Butler-Pittsburgh Line Has Panthers at -7.5

The Butler-Pittsburgh line listed the Panthers as -7.5 favorites though Gambling911.com has determined the spread should be into the double digits.  Spread action was balanced here with the total coming in at 128 and the UNDER getting a whopping 90 percent of public betting action. 

Outside of what we believe to be a miscalculated line, the Butler Bulldogs have performed quite well Against The Spread when it comes to trending.

Here are some of the highlights in that regard:

As an underdog they are 5-1 ATS.

In all neutral court games they are 6-0 ATS.

In non-conference games, Butler is a very impressive 8-2 Against The Spread.

They are 6-0 ATS in all tournament games.

The Bulldogs are 14-5 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record.

Butler is the number 8 seed playing the number 1-seeded Panthers. 

Despite losing a six-point lead to Old Dominion in the final two minutes, Butler pulled out a victory with a putback at the buzzer.

"Knowing the history of their school, they're basically America's team now," Pitt guard Brad Wanamaker said.

"I think everyone wants to the see the upset," Panthers center  Bary McGhee said. "We just want to come out there and play our game. We know what we have to do."

Pittsburgh, the Big East regular season champions, beat No. 16 seed UNC Asheville 74-51 on Thursday.

With a win against Butler Saturday, the Panthers will have made the Sweet 16 for a 6^th time in 10 years.
