Atlanta Hawks Daily Fantasy Value, Betting Report – February 19

The Atlanta Hawks daily fantasy value and betting report as we enter into the second half of the 2015 NBA season is examined by Gambling911.com, the official sponsor of the first ever Daily Fantasy Sports Expo in Miami Beach.  This is just one of the many new additions to the Gambling911.com site to compliment the second half of the season that we hope will make you a winner whether you’re betting on games or playing daily fantasy NBA.

Atlanta currently would pay $750 for every $100 bet to win the 2015 NBA Championship or $75 for every $10 so you will want to lock this price in now if you think the Hawks can win it all.

This is a Hawks team that ended on a sour note before the start of the All Star Weekend, losing to Boston.  They did lose three of their last ten Straight Up and six of ten Against The Spread.

Don’t despair, this is a Hawks team that has held opponents to the 5th fewest fantasy points this season.

Next up for the Hawks: Toronto at home, Milwaukee on the road, Dallas and Orlando at home and Miami on the road to close out the month of February.

Here are your projected salaries and target fantasy points to make value (vary between sites):

K. Korver (SG) $5.1K – 26 fantasy points

D. Carroll (SF) $5 – 26 fantasy points

J. Teague (PG) $7.7K – 37 fantasy points

P. Millsap (PF) $7.8K – 37 fantasy points

A. Horford (C) $7.9K – 37 fantasy points

Al Horford – So the last time he faced Toronto in January, Horford managed to score 22 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 block.  He would have made value in that game.  Milwaukee and Orlando both have trouble against opposing centers but the Magic in particular give up the 2nd most fantasy points to centers this season.  His last meeting with Atlanta resulted in approximately 4x his price, again right on target.  The problem with Horford is he’s just making value in games where he should have eclipsed 50 plus fantasy points.  At least versus Milwaukee, another team that has a tough time versus opposing centers, he did manage well over 40 fantasy points his last meeting against them.

He had scored at least 37 fantasy points in nine of his last eleven games prior to facing the All Star Break and this does make Horford a relatively safe play in three of the next four meetings at least.  Against Dallas he failed to make his target in the last appearance against them while he was atrocious versus the Heat his last outing.

Toronto – Neutral/Go

Milwaukee – Go

Dallas – Hold

Orlando – Go

Miami – Strong Hold

DeMarre Carroll – Carroll scored 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals against Boston prior to the All Star Break.  He managed an even more impressive feat against Minnesota the game prior, scoring 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting and adding four rebounds and three steals.

When last facing the Raptors, Carroll did make value, besting his target 26 fantasy points.  He did the same against Milwaukee, though mostly in the rebounding department.

On paper at least, one would think he might go bonkers against the Magic, who really struggle against power forwards.  They have given up the 7th most fantasy points to opposing power forwards (a position Carroll is capable of playing).   That wasn’t the case the last time Carroll faced Orlando and, under a new head coach who has slowed down the pace somewhat, the Magic are far from a “sure play”.

Carroll managed to make value with Dallas, scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds.

As one might expect, he struggled against the Heat his last time playing that team.

Toronto – Neutral/Go

Milwaukee – Neutral/Go

Dallas – Neutral

Orlando – Neutral

Miami – Hold

Paul Millsap – With Orlando having difficulties versus power forwards, Millsap must be considered on a roster against the Magic even though he failed to come remotely near his target price the last time he faced them.

Millsap came close to his target 37 fantasy points last time he faced Toronto with a well-rounded effort.  He got close but no cigar against Milwaukee and Miami held him in check.  Millsap managed to extend slightly above his target fantasy points versus Dallas the last time he faced them.

He had scored at least 36 fantasy points in six of his last ten games prior to his lackluster performance in Boston before the All Star Break.

Toronto – Neutral/Go

Milwaukee – Neutral

Dallas – Neutral/Go

Orlando – Neutral

Miami – Hold

Jeff Teague – Orlando gives up the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season and, indeed, Teague flirted with 40 fantasy points the last time he faced the Magic.

He came close to making value vs. Toronto but ended up with solid performances against both Milwaukee and Miami.

Toronto – Neutral

Milwaukee – Go

Dallas – N/A

Orlando – Go

Miami – Neutral/Hold

Kyle Korver – Korver only needs to make 26 points to achieve value.  Against his upcoming competition, the shooting guard has managed that feat and then some versus only Dallas.

Toronto – Hold

Milwaukee – Hold

Dallas – Neutral/Go

Orlando – Hold

Miami – Hold

Despite the vulnerabilities we see with Orlando, the Hawks players have not exactly impressed against this team.  Atlanta lost outright to Orlando on December 13, the second game of a two-night double header where the Hawks won by a mere 6 points against Orlando at home the night prior.

One thing is obvious, Hawks players will be paid little consideration in that team’s upcoming game against Miami.  It’s a bizarre situation in that they crushed them by more than 10 points in the last two previous meetings.

Tuesday night was likely Klay Thompson's last game as a Golden State Warrior.  Next stop?  Orlando, assuming the oddsmakers are correct.
