2009 NBA Draft Betting Odds

2009 NBA Draft betting odds were being offered up by our friends at betED.com. The 2009 NBA Draft takes place Thursday and betED.com has a great selection of prop bets available.

Among the many offerings: With the Atlantic Coast Conference, 2009 NBA Draft betting odds include the over/under total (which at betED.com is 5.5), with the over paying -155 and the under +115.

For the Big East, the total is 6.5, with the over heavily favored at -325 and the under the dog at +225.

Bettors can also pick which player out of several pairings will be chosen first. Among the pairings are Hasheem Thabeet of Connecticut (-325) and James Harden of Arizona State (+225); Wayne Ellington of North Carolina (-145) and DaJuan Summers of Georgetown (+105); and North Carolina teammates Tyler Hansbrough (-220) and Wayne Ellington (+160).

Another wager to keep a close eye on is whether Blake Griffin, the Oklahoma Sooners star who is expected to be chosen first overall, will end up playing for the Los Angeles Clippers (-8500), who hold the first-overall pick, or any other team (+3500).

"Obviously the later is most enticing for that $3500 payout potential on a $100 bet," says Gambling911.com's Don Shapiro.  "Enticing but least likely," he added.

You can also bet whether players will be taken in the first or second round - like will Summers be selected in the first (-325) or second (+225). Or how about Darren Collison? First (+105); Second (-145).

And a wager that's always popular is which players will be chosen second, third, fourth and fifth overall. For example: Who will be the second player to be drafted?spacer_clear Hasheem Thabeet (+110); Ricky Rubio (-120); James Harden (+1200); Tyreke Evans (+600).
