Key takeaways:

Just as in Chicago with the Orioles vs. White Sox game, we anticipate a possible disruption with the Cubs vs. Cardinals game as well on Friday due to severe thunderstorms anticipated in the area around game time.  This can always change so be sure to monitor.  It's important that if you placed a bet you know what the rules are when games are suspended or postponed.

Cubs @ Cardinals Friday Game

Chicago has won six of the last seven games in this series.

The line on this game was coming in at Cubs -144.

Shota Imanaga has been nothing short of sensational for the Cubs with his 5-0 record to go along with an 0.84 ERA.

Miles Mikolas will start for the Cardinals.  He's 3-5 with a 5.77 ERA.

In 149 at bats versus the Cubs, Mikolas has allowed just two home runs.  Nico Hoerner is 9 for 23 against him.

Mikolas only allowed one run over five innings against the Red Sox on Saturday, but he didn’t factor into the decision.   In his prior start, Mikolas permitted three runs in six innings against the Brewers.

The total on this game is set at 8.5.

Know the Rules When Games Are Suspended, Postponed

The Orioles and St. Louis Cardinals suspended their game Tuesday night after a rainstorm rolled over Busch Stadium ahead of the bottom of the sixth inning. They plan to resume the contest, which was tied 1-1 when the grounds crew rolled out the tarp, at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday and play their series finale 30 minutes after.

Sportsbooks have different rules on suspended games just like they do for postponements. Most books may keep the bet active if the game is going to be resumed within 24 to 36 hours.

With DraftKings, for example, Bets on games suspended after they have started will have action as long as the game is resumed within 36 hours of the original start time.
