The 2025 NCAA Division I Men's College World Series (MCWS) is scheduled to take place from Friday, June 13, through Sunday or Monday, June 22 or 23, at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. Eight teams compete in two double-elimination brackets.
This will mark the 19th time LSU's baseball team has been to the College World Series with victories coming in seven of those appearances. The Tigers are currently tied for 10th in college baseball in fielding percentage at 98.1%
LSU stars include the likes of Kade Anderson, Jared Jones, Anthony Eyanson, Daniel Dickinson, Gavin Guidry, Chase Shores and Chris Stanfield.
Anderson has shot to No. 3 overall and is now listed as the top college pitcher in the class.
Anderson has started 15 games this season. In 12 of those, Anderson has recorded at least nine strikeouts.
Eyanson, a junior righthander, has pitched into the sixth inning in six straight starts, winning four of those games.
Eyanson pitched 7.2 shutout innings in a 7-0 win vs. Little Rock in game one of the Baton Rouge Regional. Eyanson struck out seven and walked just one.
"Just wanted to execute," Eyanson said after the start, "I'm going to say that probably every interview, but honestly, just wanted to execute, slow down in the moment. Just take it all in."
Eyanson didn't finish the game, getting pulled in the eigth, but he wasn't worried when the bullpen took over.
"It's really cool seeing those guys progress, especially (Mavrick Rizy). He's insane, but it's really cool seeing him grow and just keep working. I see his work every day, just being at the field around him all the time and just giving the ball to him and DJ," Eyanson said.
LSU's standout hitter is junior first baseman Jones.
Jones moved to 3rd on LSU baseball's all-time HR list following the Tigers' win over South Carolina two weeks ago.
