MLB Daily Rankings August 20

Despite their 54-71 record on the season, the Oakland Athletics have reached our Daily Power Rankings courtesy of a solid performance in recent days that really started last month.

Oakland has played well of late, winning six of their last ten games and they are now 17-10 since the start of July. The Athletics are hitting .252 BA/.331 OBP/.427 SLG/.759 OPS since the All-Star break.  They are scoring 4.4 runs per game (3.9 in the first half) and its team ERA is down about 0.75 points.

The Athletics enjoyed yet another win on Monday, this time against the Tampa Bay Rays, 3-0.

Seattle has mostly disappointed over the past week and drop out of the rankings.

The Houston Astros have been on absolute fire of late, winning nine of their last ten games to capture the No. 1 spot.
