Paddack agreed to a three-year, $12.5 million contract extension with the Twins ahead of last season.  On September 24, Paddack was activated from the injured list to make his return from Tommy John surgery.  In the post season he was mostly relied on as a reliever.

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Both Minnesota and LA enter this game with disappointing records a few games below the .500 mark though the Twins have won six of their last seven, albeit primarily against the lowly White Sox.  They have won four of the last six games against the Angels.

Paddack is 1-1 with a 5.57 ERA coming into this game.

Jose Soriano is yet to have a win this season for the Angels. This is despite pitching well of late.  He allowed three runs, all of them unearned, over six innings Sunday in a loss to the Reds and just one run on one hit in five innings in a no-decision against the Rays, striking out six but walking five. Soriano is favored to allow under 4.5 hits for this game with the MLB player props.

Gamblers have brought this line down from Angels -135 to +105.
