Rooker spoke of his own preparation and performance heading into the 2026 season during spring training:

“I probably hit a little more this offseason than I have in the past… I did some overload/underload training just to work on some sequencing and try to move as efficient as I can. I looked into some bat speed stuff to see if I can find something at the margins to pick up a mile an hour or two.”

He emphasized that the goal wasn’t to overhaul his swing but to refine what already works:

“It wasn’t like I was going in trying to make any wholesale changes to my swing… just fine-tune things I do well.”
