PITCHING MATCHUP: Mariners RH Nathan Karns (5-2, 4.06 ERA) vs. Tigers RH Mike Pelfrey (1-7, 4.79)

Detroit (34-35) was a home underdog of +130 with Seattle (36-33) favored at -135.

Pelfrey has been stung by the current Mariners roster, allowing 25 hits off of 76 at bats including 8 extra base hits and 3 homers. The OVER though for the Monday game was set at 10.5 and, since only one of the last six games in which Pelfrey has started went OVER this number, we will avoid placing a wager on the total.

The Mariners are 5-2 in Karns' last 7 road starts but are also 0-4 in their last 4 games vs. a right-handed starter.

It is interesting to note that Seattle is 12-4 in their last 16 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game.

The Tigers are 1-7 in their last 8 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game.

Michael Fulmer will be starting for the Tigers on Wednesday.  He’s allowed only two runs in just over 38 innings pitched.

At press time, the Thursday starter for Detroit was yet to be determined.
