2016 World Series Winner Pays Out Big to Early Bettors

While the Cubs and Indians were essentially at opposite sides of EVEN odds to win the 2016 World Series once they qualified (Cubs 5-6, Indians 6-5), early future bettors got some terrific value back in March.

The Cubs were instilled at 16-1 odds of winning the 2016 World Series and expected to win 82 regular season games.  The Cubs would eventually become the favorite to win much of the regular season.

The Indians entered the season as even bigger long shots at 25-1 odds.

And the ball club to win this year's World Series, which went into overtime 6-6.....

The Chicago Cubs - Winning for the First Time Since 1907 - Congratulations to the Cubs

The Cubs went up 7-6 in the 10th inning following a brief rain delay.  Ben Zobrist helped deliver that run with and double with only one out.

Miguel Montero singled to left with Rizzo scoring and bases loaded.  Trevor Bauer was brought into the game to pitch for Cleveland.
