MLB All-Star Game Handicapping

The American League has won the past two games after losing the previous three. They now hold a 43-40-2 edge in the all-time series. The home team is just 2-4 in the past six MLB All-Star games. The past nine All-Star Games have been low scoring with eight of them going under the total with one push. It had been eight straight unders until last year’s game ended up right on the total of 8. Since the 2005 game produced a combined 12 runs, the totals have been consistently low. Oddsmakers have adjusted as the total has dropped from 10 in the late 2000’s to the 8 for last year’s game.

MLB All-Stars

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson led all vote-getters with more than 14 million votes. His total set an all-time record as the voting took place online for the first time. Coming in second was Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout. Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper was the leading vote getter in the National League. Each team has 34 players with the final player selected in a Final Vote by the fans. Any starting pitcher who pitched on Sunday, July 12th will not be eligible to pitch in the All-Star game.

MLB All-Star Game Predictions

The National League has the home field edge and they also have the edge in their lineup. I will lay the price and take the National League to win this game on Tuesday night.
