Team Outlook

From CollegeFootballNews:

Set The Regular Season Win Total At … 10

There isn’t a game on the schedule that Boise State can’t win. There’s no Fresno State or San Diego State from the West, the hardest Mountain West game until late November is against Hawaii at home, and the non-conference slate is against Florida State, Marshall, Portland State and BYU.

Some of the better Boise State teams of past years would’ve taken one look at this schedule and just assumed 12-0.

Instead, there will be two misfires along the way.

That Florida State game in Jacksonville to start the season isn’t easy, and going to BYU won’t be a picnic.

The late-season dates at Utah State and Colorado State will be tricky, and going to UNLV is tougher than it appears.

So, ho-hum, another ten-win season and another trip the Mountain West Championship.

Even when Boise State rebuilds, it’s still fantastic.

From AthlonSports:

If the new quarterback can serve as a merely adequate replacement for (Brett) Rypien, the Broncos should once again be in conference title contention. However, with so many questions on offense, there could be some growing pains. Though some road games are tough, Boise State has enough talent, led by strength on the lines, for a 21st straight year of eight wins or more.

From WSN:

The Broncos open their 2019 season on a relatively big stage, as they take on a rebuilding Florida State program in Jacksonville. After that, they finish out September with three manageable matchups on the blue turf at Albertsons Stadium . With MWC contenders Fresno State and San Diego State not on the schedule, the November 23rd visit to Utah State should be the biggest test for Boise State. With that being said, the road trip to BYU could present a challenge, with LaVell Edwards Stadium being one of the toughest places to play in.
