BetUS (established in 1994) is one of a handful of sports betting sites accessible to those living in the great state of California to place bets on this year's Super Bowl.   The site offers a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $3125) and will feature hundreds of prop bets on the big game.

California is unlikely to consider legalizing in-state sports betting any time soon due to the conflicting agendas related to the current players within the state's gaming sector, primarily the tribal nations.  Those living here can still access those site located outside the state.

In the past, California lawmakers had tried to legalize online poker for nearly a decade to no avail.

On January 8th, 2020, the Joint Assembly and Senate Governmental Organization Committees held a meeting in the state capital in order to gather input from industry experts on the feasibility of sports betting in California.

The market would likely be worth roughly $2.5 billion per year.

Gambling bills in California need a two-thirds supermajority if they are to pass the state legislature, which this year runs through September 17, 2021.

Should sports gambling somehow end up legalized, it's doubtful the tribes would want to risk losing customers through mobile wagering.  As such, California sports betting would likely be limited to land-based casinos.
