A short week and a potential Notre Dame hangover didn't faze Cincinnati, which allowed only a 55-yard field goal and outscored Temple 35-0 in the second half. Darrian Beavers and the swarming Bearcats defense recorded three takeaways and held the Owls to 2.8 yards per rush and only three drives that crossed midfield. Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder passed for 259 yards and three touchdowns, but the offense got a more important boost from Jerome Ford (149 yards, two touchdowns) and a run game that piled up 279 yards and four touchdowns. Cincinnati eclipsed its season rushing average by more than 130 yards.
