Major UK Storm Strands Gaming Affiliates Attending Conference
Airlines have cancelled dozens of flights out of London, while several rail firms have urged passengers not to travel.
Dozens of online gambling affiliates who had attended this past week's London Affiliate Conference (LAC), typically the largest of the year, reported being stranded at Heathrow Airport.
The Independent calculates at least 25,000 passengers have been hit by cancellations to and from Heathrow. Approximately 240 British Airways flights to and from Heathrow were cancelled throughout Sunday afternoon.
Air Malta cancelled all of its London flights to Malta, iGaming's largest hub.
Storm Ciara lashed the United Kingdom and other nations throughout Northern Europe on Sunday with heavy rain and winds of up to 80mph (130km/h).
Sporting events including all Dutch Football matches were cancelled Sunday afternoon.
