It’s back to Fight Island for Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Ige. The 12-fight ticket features five bouts on the main card with a featherweight tussle between Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige headlining the event. We don’t have the impact fights we saw over the weekend when UFC debuted on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, but there is plenty at stake for the fighters competing. Both Kattar and Ige are coming off the biggest wins of their career with an eye set on moving up the ranks. They are both currently ranked in the top-10, but a few rings below the closest contenders.  You will not want to miss betting on this fight with Bookmaker offering a generous welcome bonus (maximum now $1600/ reload maximum $5000).

The winner of this bout is positioned among the top of the stacked division with a fight for the title still at least a win or more away. The hill becomes much steeper for the loser. The rest of the ticket features some up-and-comers and veterans looking to hang around long enough to earn a title bout. Flyweights Tim Elliott and Ryan Benoit meet in the co-main event with both looking to remain relevant among a group of young fighters.

Dan Ige (14-2, 3 KOs, 5 SUBs) vs. Calvin Kattar (21-4, 11 KOs, 2 SUBs)

Neither fighter can afford a loss in what is the deepest classification in the UFC. Kattar dropped a close decision to No. 9 Zabit Magomedsharipov in November then he bounced back with a dominant beating of Jeremy Stephens in May at UFC 249, putting him back among the next tier of contenders while positioning himself as a big favorite in this bout. Ige raised some eyebrows with an impressive run of six straight wins, including a decision over Edson Barboza in his last fight. Ige went the distance with one of the best knockout fighters and would have earned praise had he lost. He gained much more with a narrow split decision win. Both fighters are aggressive in their attack making this a bout worthy of being the main event.

UFC Pick: Calvin Kattar / Decision

Jimmie Rivera (22-4, 4 KOs, 2 SUBs) vs. Cody Stamann (19-2-1, 6 KOs, 2 SUBs)

Rivera has been around long enough to experience the ups and downs in his career path. He reeled off 20 straight wins after dropping the second fight of his career, knocking off luminaries like Urijah Faber and Thomas Almeida. Things have gone the other way recently with three setbacks in his last four fights. He dropped unanimous decisions to Aljamain Sterling and Peter Yan in 2019 in his most recent fights. The competition was stiff and getting back to contender status rides on this event. While Stamann has a number of fights under his belt, it’s one like this against a savvy opponent that he needs to win in order to move up the rankings.

UFC Pick: Cody Stamann / KO

Molly McCann (10-2, 4 KOs) vs. Taila Santos (15-1, 10 KOs, 2 SUBs)

The flyweight division needs new blood to test Valentina Shevchenko. One of these fighters could be on her way to a showdown for the belt. Either that or she’s just more fodder for the champion, who has dominated the division. McCann’s relentless approach has resulted in three straight unanimous decision victories as she starts to feel more comfortable in the octagon. Santos earned a promotion to UFC by winning her first 15 fights, but her first inside the octagon didn’t go well with a split decision loss to Mara Romero Borella. With 10 of her wins by (T)KO Santos proved to be a finisher in other promotions, but things are different at this level.

UFC Pick: Molly McCall / Decision
