The Main Contenders

Liverpool - Let’s start with the current champions. Jurgen Klopp’s team reached back-to-back finals in 2018 and 2019. The Reds are formidable in this competition. Soccer fans around the world will never forget the epic comeback against Barcelona at Anfield last season. It was one of the finest sports moments of the century.

The six-times Champions League winners have quality in every department. They’re ferocious in attack and rock-solid at the back. Don’t be surprised if they’re involved in yet another European Cup final this season.

Man City - The Citizens are the best team in England right now. They’ve proven that over the last three years. However, they need to break their Champions League curse. Despite being dominant domestically, Pep Guardiola’s team has never won this trophy. They are desperate to get the monkey off their back and win big ears for the first time.

Their quality is clear for everyone to see. Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, and Sergio Aguero are pivotal for City this season. If they can keep their key men firing, they could be potential champions.

Barcelona - Barca has a rich history in this competition. The Spanish side won the tournament three times between 2009 and 2015. They also have Lionel Messi, one of the greatest players of all time, in their ranks. Any team that has this magician at their disposal is worth considering.

Barcelona were dumped out in dramatic fashion during last year’s semi-finals. They’ll be desperate to set the record straight and win the Champions League for the first time since 2015.

Real Madrid - Los Blancos are the most successful side in the history of the competition. Madrid has won the cup an incredible 13 times. They know exactly what’s required and have plenty of trophy-winning experience.

Zinedine Zidane won the UCL for three consecutive years during his last spell at the club. We wouldn’t be surprised to see them involved at the business end of the competition once again under his leadership.

Juventus - Juve are eager to bring the UCL title back to Turin for the first time since 1996. They have an incredible squad which is jam-packed with superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Aaron Ramsey, Matthijs de Ligt, and Paulo Dybala. They also have a hugely experienced manager in Maurizio Sarri. Rule Juventus out at your peril. They look like one of the strongest teams in Europe to us.
