Celebrity Poker

Charitybuzz has partnered with Broadway Cares for three celebrity poker auctions! Table 1 consists of Rachel Bloom, Jon Hamm, and Jimmi Simpson. Michael Ian Black, Brad Garrett, and Kevin Pollak comprise Table 2, and Table 3 features Jason Alexander, Hank Azaria, and Lisa Kudrow. The winning bidder for each auction will play with the celebrities virtually via Zoom. The poker auction is live through June 10.

Comunix

Israeli startup Comunix, a developer of a video-based social gaming app, secured $30 million in Series A funding. The round was led by March Gaming - the gaming focused arm of March Capital, which also invested in Israeli firm Forter.

Tice vs. Perkins

The hotly-anticipated highstakes heads-up nettle between multi-millionaire poker amateur, Bill Perkins, and new kid on the block, Landon Tice, got underway last night and it was Tice who took the first session, booking an $18,000 win...

Americas Cardroom is hosting the high stakes heads up event.

Yesterday’s opening session saw Perkins flying out of the blocks, bullying the younger pro and building up a big lead after that monster pot seen in the opening tweet.

Tice tweeted his thoughts afterwards: “Day 1 of ?: Won 18k. Was up around 100k, and tried to call the Ace high for it all and he had the effective nuts. 623/20k hands. Definitely a swingy session for sure but a LOT of fun.”  Source: HighStakesDB

US Poker Open

The U.S. Poker Open starts Thursday with a $10,000 buy-in No-limit Hold’em event at the PokerGO studio by the Aria, the first of 12 tournaments leading up to the $50,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event, set to run June 14.

The U.S. Poker Open begins with Event #1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em, with the first livestreamed action kicking off the next day with the final table of that tournament. From June 4 on, a daily stream will be provided so PokerGO subscribers can follow the action on a short delay.

Daily buy-ins are at least $10K alternating between eight-handed (seven-handed after the end of registration) no-limit hold'em and a different game or format with top points earners awarded an extra $50,000 and a special trophy.
