The 15 Year Trend That Favors a Texas Tech Championship

Virginia enters Monday night's College Basketball Championship game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders as a -1.5 favorite.  Not so fast says ESPN.

Starting with Connecticut in 2004 and running right up through Villanova last April, every eventual national champion has entered the title game with a better per-possession scoring margin in that year's NCAA tournament than the opponent.

In 2019, that rule of thumb points to the Red Raiders. Chris Beard's men have outscored Northern Kentucky, Buffalo, Michigan, Gonzaga and Michigan State by 0.21 points per possession.

Bettors you still have time as this one was going to press, as it tips off at 9:20 pm EST.  Don't forget there is also live in-play wagering right up to the final second (next team to score, a 2-pointer or a 3-pointer, will there be an offensive rebound, etc...)
