TNF Free Pick: Ravens Vs. Dolphins | Parlay, Total, Teaser, 1st Half, Props

Except for the Tampa beatdown, the Dolphins have played much better over the last five games. They were expected to gain a victory over the Texans this past Sunday, which they did, 17-9. The week before was a loss to the Bills, in Buffalo, 11-28. They nearly beat Atlanta the week before but ended in a 28-30 loss, and the week before, another loss came by way of Jacksonville, 20-23. Five weeks ago, they were blown out in Tampa, 17-46.

The Dolphins are an improving football team and not all is bad in Miami, however, the Ravens come in having won four of the last five, and scoring 27.8 points per game, to the Dolphins 17.2 points per game. The Ravens opened up their season with a loss coming by way of the Las Vegas Raiders, 27-33 in OT. We must add – that loss was pretty much a miracle from the Raiders. The Ravens shrugged off the loss in Vegas and won the next five in a row against Kansas City 36-35, Detroit 19-17, Denver 23-17, Indianapolis 31-25 in OT, LA Chargers 34-6, and last week suffered a loss at home to the Bengals, 41-17. There you have it, you see how they respond after a loss, they rattle off five in a row, three at home, two on the road.

Let’s face the facts about Baltimore, they are a team teetering on the brink, they could easily fall one way or the other. They have the talent to play better than they have been, especially that disaster against the Bengals last week when they allowed 41 points. The Ravens are allowing 24.4 points per game and scoring 27.6. They are posting 442.6 total yards of offense to the Dolphins 315.9 per game.

The Ravens pass for 281.0 yards per game, the Dolphins are passing for 240.8 per game. The BIGGEST and most telling number is the rushing yard disparity between the two teams. The Ravens come into this game rushing for 161.6 yards per game, against the Dolphins 75.1. The Dolphins are allowing 298.7 passing yards, to the Ravens 298.6 per game. On the ground, the Dolphins are allowing 111.0 yards per game, and the Ravens are allowing 91.8.

The quarterback situation between the two teams is not comparable on any level. The Dolphins are dealing with Tua Tagovailoa, as “questionable” and Brissett’s numbers DO NOT stack up against Lamar Jackson’s.

Jackson comes into tonight’s game 173-266 attempts, 2, 209 passing yards with 13 TDs’, and 7 INTs’. Brissett comes in with 1,127 yards, 5 TD’s, and 4 INTs’. Jackson has put up 97 carries on the year, for 600 yards rushing, and 2 rushing TD’s. Gaskin has 86 carries for 313 yards and 1 TD.

As mentioned earlier, the Dolphins are improving and they will get better, but we don’t see that happening until they get Tua back under center. Either way, it could be a game-time decision and we still like our chances with the Dolphins 1-3 at home. They move that record to 1-4 at home tonight. We are not crowning the Ravens. We mentioned this is a team that’s teetering on the side of very good and bad. They should have lost to the Colts and the winless Lions, but then again, they held the Chargers to 6 points.
