Assuming Stipe Miocic wins his UFC 226 bout against Daniel Cormier, the payout would be just shy of $100 for every $200 bet or around $10 for every $20 bet.  This is due to Miocic being the favorite and a higher risk vs. reward as a result.  It is important to understand that the $20 bet (or stake) is refunded assuming Miocic wins.  You are basically profiting $10 on every $20 wagered.   For those who do not have access to this fight, our friends at PremierPerHead.com have promised a live Twitter feed.

The current champion of the heavyweight division, Miocic may not yet have the full respect of fight fans.

“I wasn’t really getting the respect, but I’m used to it by now,” Miocic said leading up to the bout. “It’s another day in the office.”

A victory against Cormier should change that.  Cormier believes that a win against Miocic would make him among the greatest fighters in UFC history.  This says a lot of the respect the underdog has for Miocic, who is 18-2 as a professional.

“It means everything,” Cormier sad. “I’ve said it from Day One. When I’m done with this, I will be remembered. And I will be remembered as the greatest fighter to ever step foot in the UFC’s Octagon. No cheaters included. I will be the greatest of all time.”

“I’ve trained too hard. I want to keep this belt a long time,” Miocic said after winning the belt. “I’m going to keep this belt for awhile, I promise you that. It’s up to the UFC, honestly. It’s up to the UFC. Whoever they put in front of me, I’ll fight. I’m all about getting home, I’m getting married in a couple weeks, that’s all I care about right now.”
