A missing person's report has been filed with Dublin, Ireland police by the fiance of 41-year-old Icelandic poker player Jon Jonsson.

The father of two disappeared from his hotel room February 9 and has not been heard from since.  Jonsson was in Dublin to take part in the Dublin Poker Festival, which began February 10.   He never took part in the tournament.

The day Jonsson vanished, CCTV shows him playing poker in the hotel’s casino.

The Irish Times and other media outlets began covering Jonsson's disappearance over the weekend.

From PokerTube:

Jon has no history of mental health issues and is described as a “big family man” by those who know him. He is the father of two girls and stepfather to Jana’s children. He calls his family daily to check up on them and vanishing without a trace is out of character for him.

A big search party consisting of his friends and family has flown to Dublin from Iceland to look for him. The Irish poker community has rallied around the cause and is organizing a donation drive to help with the search efforts. You can see the details on the embedded Facebook post below.

“There are serious concerns for his safety at this stage as he has been missing for over two weeks,” said Insp Mick Mulligan of Ballymun Garda station which is conducting the missing persons investigation.

“We’ve nothing to indicate anything sinister may have happened to him,” Insp Mulligan added.

“We’re appealing now through the media to the public at large for any information in relation to this disappearance.”

A charity tournament took place on February 27 with all proceeds going towards the search effort.

Those with information can call Ballymun Garda Station on 01-6664400 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
