Saint Louis- The Billikens have Power 5-esque athletes who ignite one of the top defenses in the country but severely lack in depth.

The Action Network points out: “The Billikens rank 322nd in the country in Effective FG%, per KenPom. And even more telling is they shoot just 30.8% from 3, which is the third-worst rate in the tourney field.”

Virginia Tech- The Hokies lost senior forward Chris Clarke (suspension) and freshman forward Landers Nolley (NCAA Clearinghouse issue) earlier in the season but get back.  Justin Robinson (13.7 PPG, 5.2 APG).  He’s been out since January with a foot injury. The Hokies go with a four-guard lineup that will strengthen with the return of Robinson, one of the ACC's top table-setters, ESPN notes.

Predictions

College Football News:

"The Hokies are great from the outside, but Saint Louis is strong enough defensively to keep them from going off. The bigger issue for Virginia Tech will be rebounds – they won’t get enough. It’ll be a low scoring fight with the Billikens keeping it close with more happening on the free throw line … and on the glass. When needed late, the Hokies will have just a bit more scoring pop.
Fearless Prediction & Line"

They predict: Virginia Tech 68, Saint Louis 64
Line: Virginia Tech -9.5, o/u: 126

Action vs. Line Movement

Action was balanced.

Line

Sagarin indicates the line should be Hokies -11.
