The Richmond-West Virginia college basketball game Sunday at 1 pm ET on ESPN should be a good one with a Spiders team that is 4-0 and Mountaineers squad that has one loss on the season.   West Virginia was a -7.5 favorite on the road with the line fluctuating between that number and -7.

Richmond pays out $3500 for every $100 bet to win the 2021 NCAA Men's College Basketball Championship.  West Virginia pays $2000.

Tyler Burton had 21 points and 13 rebounds and No. 19 Richmond used a 21-6 run in the second half to pull away from Northern Iowa, 78-68 on Wednesday night.

“As I've said a couple of times, I think he's going to be one of the great Richmond players of all-time,” RIchmond head coach Chris Mooney said of the 6-foot-7 forward. “He just can do so many things.”

Sean McNeil scored 15 points and No. 11 West Virginia rallied in the second half for a 62-50 win over North Texas on Friday.

Taz Sherman added 13 points and Derek Culver had 10 points — all in the second half — and 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers. Culver scored seven points during the decisive run.

Mean Green could not buy a basket in the second half, shooting 6 of 33 (18%), including 2 of 15 on 3-point attempts.

“We just kind of slowed them down,” West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins said. “We weren’t really trying to steal the ball or make a lot of plays on the ball. We were just trying to slow them down.”
