PITCHING MATCHUP: Rangers RH Lance Lynn (9-4, 4.32 ERA) vs. Rays RH Yonny Chirinos (7-3, 3,00)

Lynn has lost only once in his last eight trips to the mound, but earned a win with the aid of his offense after giving up five runs over seven innings against the Chicago White Sox. The 32-year-old Ole Miss product has completed at least six innings in his last 11 starts and is 3-0 with a 3.62 ERA this month. Mike Zunino has homered against Lynn, who is 0-1 with a 4.87 ERA in four career appearances (three starts) versus Tampa Bay.

Chirinos has strung together four straight quality starts, but managed just one victory in that stretch and none in the past three outings. The 25-year-old Venezuela native allowed two runs on six hits over six innings of a no-decision Saturday at Oakland in a 4-2 setback. Shin-Soo Choo has a solo homer, a sacrifice fly and two walks versus Chirinos, who gave up six runs across 5 2/3 innings in a loss against Texas last season.
