“I’ve experienced racism more times than I can count but never at a poker table. Maybe micro aggressions but never anything like this”.
Poker player Will Butler spoke exclusively to PokerTube about his experience in an Oregon poker room.
The culprit, self-proclaimed Nazi, Ricky Forbito, initially launched a foul-mouthed sexist tirade against a female poker player.
Butler had at first sided with Forbito before the racist thug turned to him and shouted “Shut up nigger”.

Butler told PokerTube:
“I think these types of people are emboldened because they are around people that look like them. It also doesn’t help that no one stood up for me until I decided to stand up for myself. I get it can be scary and uncomfortable to stand up for someone but it pales in comparison to what the person being offended is feeling. And I think it’s even more important when it comes to race. Because had this been a situation where a woman was being berated and called out her name it wouldn’t have lasted more than a minute.”
Forbito has reportedly now been banned from the Chinook Winds Casino.
