Poker Player Jailed for Assault in Underground Game

The host of an underground poker game in Singapore has been arrested after allegedly stealing a cellphone and $51,000 from a player's bank account.  He was also charged with assault.

Santhakumar Emmanuel Kesigan, was sentenced to roughly 17 weeks behind bars Monday.

The 26-year-old pled guilty to one charge of voluntarily causing harm, unauthorized modification of computer material and exceeding the maximum group size allowed.

Kesigan had accused the victim of cheating in games.

During a game Kesigan hosted at his home in July, the victim was forced to sign a document stating that he owed money to Kesigan, but now it was paid off. The victime was filmed voluntarily signing said document.

According to the police report, the player went to the hospital and suffered a possible broken nose, along with a small cut on his face.
