These Players Won (And Lost) Sports Bettors the Most Money in 2021

Jonathan Taylor has been outstanding for the Indianapolis Colts this season.  Not only is he propelling his team to the Playoffs, Taylor has also amassed a nice profit for sports bettors.

According to Wayne Parry of the Associated Press, Taylor ranks among the most profitable players to wager on as far as prop bets go.

“Jonathan Taylor, every week he's being bet on to score a touchdown, and almost every week he does,” said Johnny Avello, DraftKing's head of sportsbook. “His odds are the lowest of any guy I've seen in a long time, and players are piling on him.”

Taylor scored a touchdown in 11 straight weeks before being kept out of the end zone on Christmas Day against Arizona.

But it's not just Taylor who's winning big for sports bettors.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans won the most money for gamblers on DraftKings.

Evans was followed by Bills receiver Stefon Diggs, Packers receiver Davante Adams, Taylor and Tampa Bay running back Leonard Fournette.

Los Angeles Angels pitcher/slugger Shohei Ohtani not only regularly went deep on the diamond, he also went deep into the pockets of sportsbooks.

Mixed Martial Arts and boxing were among the biggest traffic providers for Gambling911.com, and with good reason.  Rose Namajunas crushed it this year, resulting in a generous profit for those who backed her on the betting line as well as some prop offerings.

Oh, but there were some big time losers as well.

Gamblers who were long used to uninterrupted success betting on Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, as well as Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Nets guard James Harden, came up short in 2021, Parry noted.

Kelce lost customers the most on DraftKings, followed by Elliott and Jackson, Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill and oft-injured Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey.
