The New England Patriots odds of winning the AFC East were coming in at a ridiculous price of -600, meaning you would have to wager $60 to win $10 (the $60 will be returned just as long as they win the division).
The Patriots have won the division in 15 of the past 17 years, so it goes without saying, they are a pretty good bet even at this high a price.
Better bets on the Pats include winning the 2019 Super Bowl at 7/1 odds and winning the AFC Championship at 3/1 odds.
Their regular season wins were OVER/UNDER 11.5. The OVER was priced at -110 and the UNDER -120.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick expects solid competition to fill around three offensive line spots.
“We have some — not necessarily experienced on our team, but experienced in the league — players that have been very competitive for positions on our team,” Belichick said in a conference call Friday morning. “… We only carried eight offensive linemen last year, so there’s definitely some opportunities at that position. There’s plenty of competition both inside and outside, and we tried to give everybody a good look (Thursday) night, as we have through camp. We’ll just continue to let that play out and see how it goes.”
