NetEnt Collaborates with IGT to Enter Canada’s Regulated Gambling Market

Earlier this year, NetEnt got into a collaboration with another well-known developer of casino games – IGT (International Game Technology) to supply online casino games to BCLC (British Columbia Lottery Corporation). The agreement was signed in London and was meant to enable these two companies join hands and offer an exciting selection of iGaming options to the Canadian gamblers.

The technical formalities related to the collaboration are now complete and the gamers in Canada can access a comprehensive range of online casino games, including online Blackjack, from the NetEnt’s portfolio. The involvement of IGT is because of the fact that NetEnt can access the Canadian market only through the IGT connect technology.

Considering the fact that the Canadian gambling marketplace is completely regulated can prove to be a big positive for NetEnt. It’s no news that NetEnt’s games have evolved to become the most favourite of iGamers throughout the world, and they are the primary provider for many reputed online casino platforms. This deal is quite like the one NetEnt has in place in Norway, where it supplies casino games to the country via Norsk Tipping, their state-owned lottery.

However, please keep in mind that not all the games in the NetEnt portfolio will be available to the Canadians. They will be able to enjoy a large majority of their best and most popular titles though.

More on NetEnt

NetEnt is a Swedish online casino games developer, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. The company has been in existence since 1996 and is widely recognised for the interesting features, graphics, pay outs and compatibility of its products. They run some of the biggest progressive jackpots in the entire online gambling space, often paying out millions of dollars in winnings.

NetEnt’s CEO Therese Hollman is of the opinion that Mexico and United States are the next markets on their radar. All of it is a part of their grand North American expansion program which the brand is implementing right now. In her opinion, Canada was always the right place to begin owing to its huge gambling market. NetEnt thoroughly studied the success rates of other game developers that have forayed into the Canadian market previously, and are going to keep that knowledge in mind while trying to cover entire North America.

She clarified that NetEnt’s expansion plans will not be restricted to this continent alone, as very recently they signed another important deal to offer casino games in Lithuania. This deal was signed with Top Sport, the official iGaming operator in the country.

As it has always done, NetEnt plans to develop and supply more high-quality online casino games in the coming years. This has been their primary objective ever since they began operations back in 1996. Supplying games to a large number of countries in all parts of the world, as per 2018 figures, they were estimated to control 16% of the global online casino games’ market share. Their contribution is 25% in the Europe alone, which speaks volumes about the quality and popularity of their games.
