One of four unbeaten teams through their first four games of the 2020 NFL season, the Seattle Seahawks look for the first 5-0 start in franchise history when they host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football. Riding the electric play of Russell Wilson, Seattle has scored at least 31 points in every game and boasts the league’s second-highest scoring offense. And they’ve needed it all with a defense that’s been as bad as the offense has been good. And with a Vikings team loaded with playmakers that’s scored 30 or more points in three of four outings, you can see why the total is currently the highest on the Week 5 board.  Bookmaker.eu offers a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $1000).

Odds Analysis

Seattle’s unbeaten start also includes a perfect 4-0 record against the line. The Seahawks extended that run last week in Miami covering the 4.5-point spread in their 31-23 defeat of the Dolphins. They hit the board as a 9-point favorite, though the line was wagered down to -7 with money backing the visitors. Minnesota got off the schneid with a Week 4 win over Houston, 31-23, sending Bill O’Brien to the unemployment line. It was the Vikings second straight cover moving them to 2-2 ATS. The recent series has belonged to the Seahawks, who have won six in a row going 5-1 ATS in that stretch. The UNDER is 4-2 in those games, but the clubs have struggled defensively this season forcing the line up to 56.5, which is the highest in any of the series meetings.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings found their groove last week using a balanced attack to take down Houston. Despite the early season woes that included three straight losses, the Vikings have been decent on offense showing off their group of playmakers last week. Dalvin Cook rushed for over 100 yards and Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson each had over 100 receiving yards. It’s the first time that’s happened since the 2000 season.

Jefferson is a big reason why the offense has come to life. The first-round pick had just five catches and 70 yards in the first two games before coming a more integral part of the offense. In the Week 3 loss to Tennessee, Jefferson averaged 25 yards on seven grabs with his first career NFL touchdown. He had four receptions for 103 yards last week earning the trust of Kirk Cousins.

Opponents have put up big numbers through the air against Seattle. The numbers are misleading since teams have been forced to come from behind. Still, it’s an area that Cousins and his pass catchers will try and exploit. They’ll also lean heavily on Cook, who took over the NFL’s rushing lead with 130 yards against a leaky Texans group. Cook has also turned it on the last two games totaling 311 rushing yards with an average of 6.3 yards per tote. Cook scored twice on the ground last week and also leads the league with six rushing touchdowns.

Seattle Seahawks

After relying on one of the NFL’s best defenses for years during back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, the Seahawks are doing it on the other side of the football this season. Long overlooked because of the Legion of Boom, Wilson is showing why he’s the front-runner for the MVP award a quarter of the way through the season. He leads an offense that’s scored 31 or more points in every game by tossing a NFL-high 16 touchdowns. Seattle averages 35.5 points per game second only Green Bay.

Wilson will test a Minnesota defense that underwent a massive overhaul during the offseason then lost leaders Danielle Hunter and Anthony Barr to injuries. The Vikings ranked in the top-10 in fewest points allowed in each of the previous five seasons, but they currently rank 26th allowing 31.3 points and sit 29th conceding 426.5 yards per game. Pete Carroll has let Russ cook to offset an uncharacteristic poor defense. And the Hawks will be without Jamal Adams, one of the safeties in the game.

Leading the NFL in completion percentage and passer rating are bolstering Wilson’s efforts for his first MVP. Of course he can’t do it without his mates and they’ve certainly contributed. Seattle has the third-best passing game with the help of D.K. Metcalf, who averages over 25 yards per catch. Possession receiver Tyler Lockett leads the club with 26 grabs. The ground game could be hindered with Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde dealing with injuries, but that hasn’t affected them yet this year.

Bet Vikings at Seahawks at BookMaker.eu

The total is up there which has me cautious. However, I have no problems backing Wilson and the Seahawks in this game. Russ just makes plays making Seattle an entertaining pick. Both teams are struggling defensively and have injury concerns on that side of the ball. And considering all the talent for both clubs on offense, I’ll have to back the over.

NFL Score Prediction: Seahawks 36, Vikings 25
