The Buffalo Bills return to the scene of a gut-wrenching loss looking to keep their position as the top team in the AFC East. The Bills will tangle with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night in Glendale, Arizona after the Niners were forced to relocate due to COVID restrictions put forth in their home state. Buffalo’s lone setback in its previous five games came in the desert on the now infamous “Hail Murray.” The Bills maintained their slim lead in the division with a win over the Chargers last week while the Niners, despite all they’ve gone through this season, are still in the playoff hunt.  Bookmaker.eu offers a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $1000)

Odds Analysis

Even though the Bills lead the AFC East with an 8-3 record we’ve seen the line jump the fence for this matchup. Buffalo hit the board as a 3-point favorite but the spread has since been wagered in favor of San Francisco at -1. The Niners got some players back from injury and the COVID list in time for last week’s 23-20 upset of the Rams, breaking a three-game SU and ATS skid as a 5-point dog. They are still in last place in the NFC West but can tie for the final NFC playoff spot with a win. The Bills are coming off a 27-17 payout win over the Chargers last week, their fourth triumph in the last five games. Buffalo’s only loss during that stretch came in Arizona when the Cards pulled out the miraculous finish. Buffalo has three straight payouts and is 3-0 ATS against the NFC West this season cashing the OVER in all three games.

Buffalo Bills

With a matchup against the Steelers in Week 14, it would behoove the Bills not to overlook their opponent on Monday night. The Bills responded to their loss in Arizona a few weeks ago by knocking off the Chargers showing off the balance that has them as one of the top clubs in the AFC. Josh Allen has done a bulk of the work for the NFL’s 10th-best scoring offense but even he needs some help. He got it last week behind a running game that produced 172 yards and averaged 5.7 yards per carry.

While the ground game amassed the second-most yards in a game this season, the defense had arguably its best game of the year against the Bolts. The unit held LA 76 rushing yards and 17 points while coming up with several big stops in the fourth quarter. They also did backers a favor by holding the Bolts out of the end zone on four plays inside the 2-yard line in the waning seconds. Buffalo covered the 4.5-point closing line.

Allen threw for only 157 yards last week and the bugaboo that’s plagued him his entire career reared its ugly head. Allen threw a pick and lost a fumble giving him 13 turnovers this season. The Niners forced the Rams Jared Goff into four turnovers, capitalizing in their 23-20 win. As long as Allen values the football the Bills should be in good shape against the banged up Niners defense.

San Francisco 49ers

Just add moving states for the remainder of the season to the obstacles the 49ers have had to face this season. There were the injuries earlier in the season that claimed a number of players than a COVID outbreak that left them further shorthanded in a loss to the Packers. Now it looks like they’ll finish out the year in Arizona following restrictions implemented in California. And with players making their way back to the lineup, the Niners haven’t given up on the season.

The return of Deebo Samuel, Raheem Mostert and Richard Sherman helped end a three-game losing streak last week. Samuel caught 11 of 13 targets for 133 yards, Mostert led the team with 43 rushing yards and a touchdown and Sherman had a pick for one of four takeaways. Brandon Aiyuk is expected to return from his COVID absence this week. “Just getting all these guys back, it just brings some continuity to everyone. I know it’s a lot easier for the quarterbacks, too,” Kyle Shanahan said.

The Niners still have work to do to get back into the playoffs and they’ll likely have to ride the arm of Nick Mullens to get there. Mullens was 24 of 35 for 252 yards and an interception last week. He led the team to a pair of field goals in the final minutes against the Rams to eke out the win. Over the last four games he’s completed 66.2 percent of his passes for 1,028 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions.

As long as the Bills to don’t look ahead to their showdown with the Steelers they should be in good shape for this matchup. They showed last week they can win when Allen has an off game and as long as he holds on to the football I like Buffalo’s chances of winning this game. There has to be a breaking a point and I think the Niners hit it by shifting operations to Arizona.

NFL Score Prediction: Bills 27, 49ers 17

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
