If the Dallas Mavericks are relegated to the play-in tournament they can lay the blame on one of the worst teams in the Western Conference. The Mavs enter their contest with the Brooklyn Nets having won seven of their last 10 games with the three defeats all coming at the hands of the Sacramento Kings. Dallas is currently tied with the Lakers for fifth in the Western Conference just one game ahead of No. 7 Portland. The 7-10 seeds will participate in the play-in for the final two playoff spots in each conference.  Bookmaker.eu offers a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $1600).

Odds Analysis

Losers of three straight for the first time in two months, the Nets enter the home stretch of the season looking for some continuity in their roster. They remain in a good spot in the East 1.5 games behind Philadelphia and 1.5 games ahead of the Bucks as the top three jockey for position. The Nets haven’t lost four in a row all season and will need to fend off Luka Doncic to avoid a fourth straight setback. They are 43-23 SU and 33-33 ATS. The Mavs have beaten everybody but the Kings in their last 10 games. Unfortunately they played Sacto three times during that stretch with baffling results. They rebounded from the latest loss blasting Miami 127-112 on Tuesday night also stopping a two-game ATS slide. Overall the Mavs are 37-28 SU and 31-34 ATS. They have cashed the over in eight of their last 12 games.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets look to put a stop to a three-game losing streak that moved them out of first-place in the East. The last two of those setbacks took place in a showdown with Milwaukee in a battle of league heavyweights. The team isn’t too concerned about the recent results since this isn’t the same roster that will be available once the postseason opens. They did well for a stretch without james Harden, who has missed the last 15 games and is still recuperating from a bad hammy. Prior to their current losing streak the Nets had won four straight and nine of 13 with a lineup in flux.

Kevin Durant was back on the floor for the two games in Milwaukee and looked as good as ever. He scored 42 points in the opening tilt and had 32 in the last outing. Over his last three games KD is averaging nearly 39 points lifting his season average to 28.3. Even without Harden offense hasn’t been the issue. The Nets are the second-highest scoring team in the NBA at 118.7 points per game while leading the Association in field goal percentage. Stopping teams has been a concern, though. Giannis Antetokounmpo went for 49 and 36 points in Milwaukee’s sweep and the Nets have yielded an average of over 120 points in the last four games. Oddsmakers have adjusted the totals in those games with each one having a closing number of over 241 with the UNDER at 3-1 over that span.

Dallas Mavericks

The Mavs clinched at least a spot in the play-in tournament with their 127-113 win over Miami last time out, their seventh in the last nine games. They are tied with the Lakers for the fifth spot in the West standings, but they hold the tie-breaker thanks to a pair of wins included in their recent run. The Mavs need some help for Doncic on the offensive end of the floor and Tim Hardaway Jr. rose to the occasion against the Heat. Junior knocked down 10 triples in that game and had 36 points. He led five players in double figures, including Doncic, who poured in 23. As a team the Mavs shot 53 percent from the field and hit 22 of 48 three-pointers to get the payout.

After watching Antetokounmpo go off, Doncic probably can’t wait to face the Nets. He had an average game scoring 27 points when the Mavs won in Brooklyn 115-98 back in February. Luka got plenty of help from his mates in that one with five other players scoring in double figures for the payout. Dallas will get its first look at KD and Kyrie Irving this season. Both players missed the first meeting.

Bet Nets at Mavericks at BookMaker.eu

The Nets didn’t suddenly become a bad team. They had a few setbacks against a good team on the road, but they do have two of their Big Three playing good ball and the rest of the roster is learning how to play together. Remember, the Nets had a minor overhaul around the deadline. They also have KD and Kyrie for this game, something they didn’t have when the team met for the first time. And that will prove to be the difference in a cover for the visitors.

NBA Score Prediction: Nets 112, Mavericks 105
