ABOUT BAYLOR (25-2, 14-1 Big 12): Freddie Gillespie (9.6 points, team-high 8.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks), who accounted for 12 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high six blocks in the first meeting versus the Horned Frogs, posted his 10th double-double of the season Tuesday with 10 points and 11 boards. Reserve Matthew Mayer (4.8 points) continued to justify his recent increase in playing time, setting career highs in points (19) and minutes (20), scoring at least 10 points for the third time in four outings. Fellow sophomore guard Davion Mitchell (9.9 points, 3.9 assists), who was one of five Bears to hit multiple 3-pointers and reach double figures versus the Wildcats, finished with 14 points and a career-high 10 assists for his first career double-double.

ABOUT TCU (15-13, 6-9): The Horned Frogs were forced to play Tuesday without second-leading scorer RJ Nembhard (12.2 points), who suffered a groin injury during warmups; coach Jamie Dixon told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that his sophomore guard avoided structural damage and his ability to play Saturday will be a "pain management decision." Desmond Bane (team-high 15.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, team-high 3.8 assists), who leads the Big 12 with 75 made 3-pointers, paced TCU in points (22), rebounds (11) and assists (five) for the fifth time this season. Sophomore center Kevin Samuel (10.4 points, team-high 8.7 rebounds, team-high 2.8 blocks) was unable to improve on his 11 double-doubles with only six points Tuesday, but he collected 10 boards and swatted at least two shots for the sixth straight game.
