Layne Flack Will Be Laid to Rest August 3

A funeral will be held for Poker pro Layne Flack August 2 near Rapid City, South Dakota, his birth place.  Note that this article is being updated to reflect a new date as we previously reported the funeral would take place on August 3 and have since been advised it will occur one day earlier.

Flack, a six-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, died suddenly at the age of 52 two weeks ago.  Details surrounding his death remain limited, however, Flack had been out and about Las Vegas just days prior to the time of his passing.  The Clark County Coroner's Office confirmed to Gambling911.com's Thomas Somach that Flack did not die in the county where Vegas is located.

Flack spent a good portion of his early life in the state of Montana.

"At 24, he and his girlfriend moved to Reno, Nevada and by 1995, when his daughter Hailey was born, Layne was a full-time professional poker player," Al Moe previously wrote in this PokerNews profile.

The outpouring of love from the poker community has been extraordinary these past few weeks since his passing.

Mike "The Mouth" Matusow presented a moving tribute to his long time friend that can be watched by clicking the link below.
