The 28-year-old native of Mississippi, who is facing Texas for the first time, settled in after a rough first inning and retired eight of the final 11 batters he faced while throwing a total of 82 pitches. Stratton appeared in 28 games (26 starts) for the Giants last season, going 10-10 with a 5.09 ERA.
