The BetMGM app is not yet available in the state of Ohio but should be some time after January 2023.  Until then, and even after that time, be sure to check out our good friends at BetUS.  They have been serving Ohio sports bettors since 1994 and currently offer a welcome bonus up to 125% of what you open your wagering account with.

Unfortunately, if you were looking to bet with BetMGM for college football, you're out of luck for the 2022 regular season.  It's expected the Buckeyes will make it into the Playoffs with the second shortest odds after Alabama.  There is a slim chance BetMGM will be up and running by that time.

Ohio is likely to be one of the most sports betting-friendly states in the nation with the activity available via one's mobile devices and in over a thousand bars and restauraunts as well as bowling alleys.  Unlike a number of states, Ohio will allow wagering on their in-state schools.  Allowing sports betting without the ability to place bets on the Buckeyes in Ohio would be sacrilegious in our opinion.

If you are under the age of 21, you'll still need to have an offshore sportsbook account readily available (18 and up).

For those gambling with these apps, winnings are taxed and reported at both the federal and state level in Ohio.

Expect to pay a withholding tax of 25% of all winnings when you provide your social security number and 28% if you opt not to. Ouch!

BetUS does not ask for a social security and does not withhold any winnings.
