How Old Do I Need to Be to Place Sports Bets in Michigan?

Michigan recently legalized sports betting, including online.  One must be 21 or older to place real money bets.  Access to websites located outside the state of Michigan allow those 18 and up to place real money bets (i.e. BetUS).

Sports betting revenue is taxed at 8.4% for those operators licensed by the state. The commercial casinos in Detroit will pay an additional 1.25% city tax.

Outside of the age requirement, in-state licensed sportsbooks do not have a whole lot of restrictions.

Election/Political betting is prohibited at this time (there are other options).

Unlike some states (Illinois included), Michigan will permit wagering on state schools like Michigan University's Wolverines and MSU's Spartans.
