How Can I Bet The Saint Peter's Elite Eight Game From New Jersey?

When New Jersey became one of the first US states to amend its own law to regulate and license sports betting following a landmark Supreme Court decision in 2018, lawmakers agreed that there would be no betting on in-state schools.  At the time, there weren't any really good schools in either college football or basketball.  In fact, the Scarlett Knights were probably the worst school in college football.  Everything changed thereafter.

The Rutgers basketball program suddenly got good, as did Seton Hall, a team that already had a strong following in the Garden State from prior years of success.

In 2022, it's all about the Saint Peter's Peacocks.  They became the first number 15 seed to advance to the Elite Eight Friday night with a 67-64 win against Purdue, on National Peacock Day of all days.

And where there's a will there's a way.  Websites like BetAdrian make it possible to place bets on the Peacocks Elite Eight game against either UNC or UCLA from New Jersey only through Bitcoin anonymous accounts, which can be set up in a matter of minutes.  Offshore books do not explicitly promote their products to New Jersey residents.  Your Bitcoin wallet, after all, is parked in a land with no name and no borders.  They even offer a free $20 no deposit welcome bonus.

Local bookies are there to fill the void as well.  But try finding one ahead of Sunday's game if you don't utilize a bookie already.

State lawmakers realized last year they were losing out by prohibiting bets on in-state schools, mostly focusing in on Rutgers and Seton Hall's success of late.  They got a voter referendum up but New Jersey residents rejected it last November.

There is one other way to place a bet on the Peacocks if you happen to live in New Jersey.

Head to Manhattan, Staten Island or even PA!

You'll just need to join a different New York or Pennsylvania licensed app than the one you currently use.  If you're already using the DraftKings app in New Jersey, they'll know you are a resident of that state and potentially flag your account.

Manhattan is literally just across the river from Saint Peter's campus in Jersey City.
