Since that solid Belont Stakes showing, Gronkowski has finished 8th and 6th, respectively, in his two Breeders Cup prep races.
He did look solid in workouts prior to the Jockey Club Gold Cup in Belmont a few weeks back.
Gronkowski worked in company with Wow Cat, putting in a five-furlong breeze for a second consecutive week, and did manage to perform better than in the Runhappy Travers. Still, he may be coming off his peak.
