Saturday night presents NBA fans with a matchup between two of the best teams in the league, as the Golden State Warriors (43-19) will travel to take on the Philadelphia 76ers (40-22). The 76ers have almost mimicked the Warriors starting five, as far as pure talent goes.

These two teams played each other almost a month ago when Philadelphia came out on top 113-104. Klay Thompson was absent for the Warriors in that first matchup due to an illness. With that said, Joel Embiid played incredible in DeMarcus Cousins home debut at Oracle Center, as he posted 26 points and 20 rebounds. While the Warriors were without Thompson, the 76ers have since acquired Tobias Harris from the Detroit Pistons. Harris has led the 76ers in scoring over the past couple of games that have ended in wins for Philly. The Warriors are -5 over the 76ers on Saturday.

76ers Looking to Keep Rolling

Those last two wins for Philly have both come on the road against the Pelicans and Thunder. The 108-104 victory against the Thunder on Thursday was the first time Philly had ever won a game in Oklahoma City. The process is in full force for Brett Brown’s team, as they firmly believe that they can make a run at a championship this season. Currently sitting at 4th place in the East, the road to the championship might be a little easier in the East this year rather than the West. If the standings stayed where they are now the 76ers would take on the Celtics in the first round. Boston has a scary deep roster but they haven’t quite lived up to the hype this season. They are certainly a team that could get hot in the playoffs and make the 76ers path more difficult.

Warriors Slow Road Trip

For Golden State, they are the team that everyone wants to beat and also the team everyone wants to avoid. After bringing DeMarcus Cousins in on a cheap contract to an already stacked roster, they have taken over as the villains of the NBA. Currently 0.5 a game up on the Nuggets for 1st place in the West, the Warriors enter Saturday’s game against the 76ers on a two-game losing streak. Their last two losses against Miami and Orlando have been a little uncharacteristic for Steve Kerr’s team. They now enter a six-game stretch where they will take on the 76ers, Celtics, Nuggets, Suns, Rockets and Thunder. They did decide to rest Kevin Durant against the Magic on Thursday night and Orlando has been playing well this season currently 8th in the East.

Warriors Top Philadelphia

No one knows how Saturday’s game will go since both teams should be fully healthy. The 76ers are certainly a team that has proven they can keep up with any team. At the same time the Warriors are a team that has proven they can shoot any team out of the gym. Home court should give Philly a good chance to go up 2-0 on the Warriors this season, as ESPN’s matchup predictor is giving both teams an equal chance to win. We’re going to take the Warriors in this game and bet that they don’t extend their losing streak to three games. Bet the Warriors -5.
