Icese Laporsha Simmons has been charged with child neglect.

She appeared in a Broward courthouse on Tuesday.

According to reports, Seminole tribal police officers were dispatched to the third floor of the Lucky Street parking garage just before 3:30 a.m. after being advised there were three children sleeping in a car that was not running.  The children were later determined to be aged 4, 10 and 12.

Simmons was arrested a half hour later after returning to the car shortly after 4 am.

Prosecutors claim that Simmons was playing poker at the casino for roughly three-and-a-half hours.

The children are now under the care of the Florida Department of Children and Families, according to the arrest report.
