College Football Recap

In College Football - the SEC cake walk weekend went much like anticipated. Well, sort of. Let’s start with the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Obviously, folks would have been out of their mind to bet The Citadel straight up, but the 52 points was a lot, and they did not cover that. The Crimson Tide and Citadel were 10-10 at halftime. Alabama scored 42 second half points and won by 33.

The rest of the SEC ranked teams; Florida won by 53 points over Idaho, Georgia scored 66 on UMass and Kentucky got by Middle Tennessee State. That sets up a huge weekend of SEC Football over Thanksgiving weekend, highlighted by the Alabama/Auburn affair.

The rest of College Football saw a thriller between Ohio State and Maryland. The Buckeyes were a large favorite, so Maryland was able to get the ATS win. But, Ohio State came away with the win on the field; 52-51. The other thriller was Utah State beating Colorado State 29-24. Neither team will play for a national title, but what a game this was. Colorado State was a double digit underdog, and had a chance to win at the buzzer, to no avail. Oklahoma State upsetting West Virginia was a surprising move.

Cowboys Headline NFL Scores

Moving to the National Football League - The Dallas Cowboys were an underdog, and you know the folks in Vegas were nervous about this one. Dallas is always a popular play, and they came away with a road win in Atlanta. Lamar Jackson got the first start of his career for the Ravens, as they beat the Bengals by a field goal. Detroit was another home underdog, but they were able to get the win over the Panthers. Carolina went for two and failed late in the game.

Some high scoring games saw the totals go over in Indianapolis and New York as the Colts blasted the Titans and the Giants and Buccaneers scored 73 combined points. The Steelers were favorites on the road, and trailed all game until the end. Pittsburgh won the game, but if you took Jacksonville ATS you were a winner. The Saints were favorites at home, and whipped Philadelphia, and then finally, the Bears as the home favorite downed the Vikings by 8 late Sunday Night.

What’s Next

The Monday Night Football game features the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are a three point favorite, with the total at 63 with the YouWager folks. That concludes Week 11, but have no fear - Week 12 starts Thursday with a trio of games. The Bears are at the Lions and are a 3.5 point favorite for the first game. The middle game is the Redskins at the Cowboys. Dallas comes in at -7.5. Finally, New Orleans is at home, and a 12.5 point favorite against divisional rivals Atlanta. The total in that game sits at 59.
