Texas Stance Towards Gambling

Despite being home to dozens of sports teams, including successful college programs, state lawmakers refuse to embrace sports betting. As such, one should not expect to have in-state retail sportsbooks any time soon. There are no brick and mortar sportsbooks anywhere near Houston as a result.

Instead, for two decades now, Texans have relied on tried and true sports betting sites operating from and licensed outside the state.

Sites like BetOnline are available to those 18 years or older.

Houston Bets

The Astros entered the 2021 season with a payout potential of $2000 for every $100 bet to win the World Series.  Those odds were cut to 18-1 as they were playing just above .500 baseball heading into June.

The Texans had the worst odds of winning the 2022 Super Bowl heading into the new season.

The good news is that Texas A&M has the 5th shortest odds of winning the College Football Championship in 2021-22 with a payout potential of $2500 on a $100 bet.
