We ended the 2019 college football regular season on a positive and profitable note with our wise guy plays. Now, like the teams playing in Week 15, it’s off to bigger and better things – hopefully. We had a solid season at the betting window thanks to wise guys keeping us in the black and things get a little more interesting with championship week ahead. We don’t have to scour as many lines since there are only 10 games featuring FBS teams. The lower-level FCS playoffs are underway but we don’t have lines yet for those games. Feel free to investigate on your own, though, with all the knowledge you now own from reading this article every week.

We turned the tables last week and got back at the sportsbooks by winning on two of our three wise guy plays. The public faded Oklahoma in the Bedlam game with rival Oklahoma State, but wise guys sniffed out a winning opportunity and it paid off. Backing the Sooners -13.5 they erupted for a 34-16 win and cover. Laying 27-points to a disgruntled South Carolina squad was a gift for Clemson, which covered in a 38-3 win.

Sometimes waiting to throw down on a game is the best move and it probably would have paid off in the Penn State-Rutgers matchup. Scooping up the Nittany Lions at -38 looked like a bargain until we learned they were sitting a number of key players. That prevented PSU from covering, though they won the game 27-6.

Conference championship games will spark a lot of interest and we’re here to give you the best chance at making a few shekels at online sportsbooks. With only 10 FBS games on the Week 15 schedule there is sure to be movement so let’s take a look at a few games where sharp money has impacted the line. And remember, BookMaker will have spreads and totals for every FBS matchup during the 2019 season. Visit BookMaker.eu when you’re ready to throw down on your favorite college football team.

College Football Week 15 Wise Guy Picks

Louisiana at Appalachian State ( -6.5, 56 ), Saturday, Dec. 7, 12 p.m. ET

It’s a rematch of last year’s Sun Belt Conference title game which Appalachian State won 31-19. The Mountaineers also won the regular season meeting this season, 17-7, and have never lost to the Ragin’ Cajuns. Still, ULL got a majority of the early play when they opened at +5.5 and in a typical wise guy move the line went against the public and spiked to +6.5. App State has Power 5 wins over UNC and South Carolina and dominated the conference. The Mountaineers only loss was to Georgia Southern, a team that apparently has their number.

The Cajuns have lost just twice with a season-opening setback to Mississippi State being the other. These are easily the two best teams in the Sun Belt going a combined 21-3 and winning their respective division by two games. The key for App State is to shutdown the sixth-best ground game in the FBS. They did earlier this season and wise guys are counting on that happening again.

Wisconsin vs. Ohio State ( -16, 56.5 ), Saturday, Dec. 7, 8 p.m. ET

Ohio State is making its third straight trip to the Big Ten title game while Wisconsin hasn’t missed more than one season playing for the conference championship. The Buckeyes have been dominant all season and can lock up a CFP berth and potentially be the No. 1 seed with a victory. With all the hype Joe Burrow and the LSU Tigers are getting, OSU actually leads the nation in scoring just a tick under 50 points per game, and the total went up four points after hitting the board at 52.5.

The teams combined for 45 points in OSU’s 38-7 victory at the end of October, but wise guys and the public are supporting points forcing the number to spike. Ohio State has topped the 50-point mark six times this season and shredded a good Michigan defense last week. Bucky counters with Jonathan Taylor against an OSU defense that’s had its three worst games to close the season.

Hawai’i at Boise State ( -13.5, 64 ), Saturday, Dec. 7, 4 p.m. ET

Another line move against the public is a sign that wise guys are toying with the numbers. Boise State surfaced as a 14.5-point favorite for the Mountain West Championship bout with Hawai’i and the Broncos get the game on the blue turf with the better record hosting. The MW is one of four leagues to play its title game on a campus site. And 55 percent of the early action liked that idea and backed Boise State.

However, we saw the line drop to BSU -13.5 even though the Broncos hammered Nick Rolovich’s team 59-37 earlier in the year on the smurf turf. It’s not known whether Boise quarterback Hank Bachmeier is going to play and wise guys figure that potential absence can cause enough of a difference in the spread.
