Chris Moneymaker Becomes an Americas Cardroom Team Pro

Gambling911.com is thrilled to announce that Chris Moneymaker, the first ever world champion after qualifying at an online poker site, has been named the latest Americas Cardoom team pro.

The former PokerStars Team Pro now proudly wears the Americas Cardroom badge, representing the site that stands proudly for big poker in America.

Back in 2003, Chris had a $10,000 WSOP Main Event package that included a spot in the world’s richest poker tournament.  Chris went on to win that live tournament, netting $2.5 million in prize money and securing his place in history.  Many credit Moneymaker with revolutionizing the world of online poker, and ultimately the participation in the World Series of Poker.

Without Chris Moneymaker, Americas Cardroom might not even be a thing, the popular poker site admits on its own web page.

Other notable successes include a 2nd place finish in the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Stars $5,500 Main Event for $200,000, a 6th place finish in the WCOOP $10,300 No Limit Hold’em event for $139,635 and a 2nd place finish in the National Heads-Up Poker Championship for $300,000.

The 45-year-old Moneymaker was born in Atlanta and currently resides in Nashville.

And that name?

His ancestors made silver and gold coins and chose the name "Moneymaker" as a modification of their German last name: "Nurmacher."
