PokerStars opted out of the U.S. market in 2011 after a high-profile probe by the Justice Department resulting in a series of indictments.

Stars is slowly inching its way back into the States with both its poker and sportsbook brand.  Texas will not be one of those states despite the popularity of poker and good number of poker rooms.  The state isn't particularly friendly to most other forms of gambling and has no intention of hosting online poker sites or sportsbooks.

Americas Cardroom is one of the few sites that has long served the U.S. market and is currently offering a $5 million guaranteed online tournament with a $1 million first place prize.  Americas Cardroom tends to rank as the 8th largest online poker site in the world.  It also offers a sportsbook and online casino, and yes they are available to those living in Texas.
