PokerStars forbids those from Florida from playing for real money on their website. Alternatives include Americas Cardroom, available to play for real money in 47 US states, including Florida, and now offering satellites for the 2022 World Series of Poker Main Event.
Florida Amendment 3, the Voter Approval of Casino Gambling Initiative, was on the ballot in Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment on November 6, 2018. It was approved and gives Florida voters the power to decide whether gambling will be expanded in the Sunshine State.
In May 2021 state lawmakers did arrive at an agreement for a new compact that expands the Seminoles presence in Florida that includes sports betting at all of their casinos.
