Will the FanDuel Sports Betting App Be Available to Those in Texas?

FanDuel will not be taking bets in the Lone Star State in this life time or the next life time, should you be reincarnated, as Texas is not considered a gambling-friendly state.

Disadvantages to Using the FanDuel Sports Betting App

Even as a Texas resident, you can still place real money bets on the FanDuel app, but only when visiting the state of New Jersey.  This is the only state that currently offers the app for real money betting.

It should be noted that Texas residents regularly travel to the state of New Jersey due to United having both its major hubs in both Houston and Newark.  As of this writing there were 18 nonstop flights total between Newark and Dallas and Houston.

The Fanduel sports betting app went live in New Jersey during the last days of August.  It is only available in this state currently. Folks who wish to open a betting account may do so from outside the state but will be unable to bet until they are within New Jersey's borders, this includes Newark International Airport.

Another disadvantage is the limited device compatibility.  The Fanduel sports bet app is for Android and IOS.

While those 18 or older can play with offshore sportsbooks, FanDuel and its New Jersey-based counterparts require users to be at least 21 in order to place a bet.
