The new FanDuel sports betting app is available to everyone though actual real money bets can only be placed while in the state of New Jersey.  Alternatives include Jazz Sportsbook, which currently offers a RISK FREE $1000 BET and will never ask for your social security number. They also do not report your winnings.  Bonus up to $1000.  In business since 1994

The Fanduel sports betting app went live in New Jersey during the last days of August 2018.  Their retail betting shop at the New Jersey Meadowlands is absolutely amazing.  We were there recently for a party and there were people being dropped off at 11:30 pm to place bets on God knows what.  The app is only available for betting in NJ at the present time.  FanDuel is looking to enter other markets but these are not readily available.  New Jersey requires FanDuel to pay a 13% tax on revenue generated online or via the app.

You can also find the FanDuel app in these states:

New York, Illinois, Colorado, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, West Virginia, Iowa, New Jersey, Tennessee, Arizona, Connecticut and Michigan.

There are a few disadvantages to using the FanDuel app, including limited device compatibility, customers must be at least 21 years old (offshores require players to be at least 18), and betting on NJ schools is prohibited.

A lot of people laughed off the idea that one could not bet on New Jersey colleges, but two of them got into the 2019 Big Dance and Seton Hall and the Pirates were on a roll to start 2021-22.  Rutgers will attract some decent Football action as they slowly come out of the dark.

Offshore book lines are often posted overnight and tend to have better value.  FanDuel does seem to be competitive with the offshores though, unlike Draftkings, which do not always have overnight lines for Major League Baseball.

The Fanduel sports betting app is for Android with IoS slated to be discontinued due to updated Apple protocol in early September 2019.

Jazz Sports is an excellent alternative, now celebrating their 15th year in business.
